John Malkovich

John Malkovich was born in Illinois on December 9, 1953. The young man formed his own theater company at university and embarked on an international tour. But John also aspired to conquer the silver screen, landing his first major role in The Seasons of the Heart and earning an Oscar nomination.

He went on to star opposite Dustin Hoffmann in Death of a Salesman, before being spotted by Spielberg for the lead role in Empire of the Sun. From then on, Malkovitch was recognized as one of the most brilliant actors of his generation, with a string of outstanding roles, including Valmont in Les Liaisons dangereuses and the protagonist in the adaptation of Steinbeck’s novel Des Souris et des Hommes.

In 1999, he embodied different facets of his own personality in the disturbing and acclaimed In the Skin of John Malkovich. Since then, the actor has multiplied his roles, appearing in both blockbusters (Eragorn) and independent films (Juno).
