Laetitia Casta for ELLE

Laetitia Casta was born on May 11, 1978, in Pont-Audemer (Eure) to a Corsican father and a Norman mother.
In August 1993, she won the Miss Lumio (Corsica) contest and was noticed by photographer Frédéric Cresseaux.
At the age of 15, she embarked on a modeling career that immediately made her very popular with the general public and led to her international “top model” status.
From 1993 to 2000, the greatest couturiers (Jean-Paul Gautier first and Yves Saint-Laurent later) chose her to walk the catwalk, she posed for the most prestigious fashion photographers and graced the cover of numerous fashion magazines.
In 1999, in parallel with her fashion activities, she embarked on a film career, playing Falbala in Claude Zidi’s Asterix and Obelix vs Caesar.
In 2000, she starred in the TV adaptation of La Bicyclette Bleue (adapted from the novel by Régine Deforges). That same year, the Association des maires de France named her Marianne de l’An 2000.
Between 2000 and 2010, she took part in a number of feature films, while occasionally pursuing her modeling career and appearing in music videos and plays.
