Fallen Angels

Far from the traditional depictions of angels, Echoes of Eternity by Jaroslav captures the essence of fragility and innocence in a suspended moment. A newborn, sculpted from the fluidity of milk in motion, floats weightlessly in space, its delicate wings dissolving at the edges. More than a mere metaphor for birth, this image speaks of passage, of transition between realms, a barely perceptible whisper of eternity.

The infant’s closed eyes and clenched fists evoke an untainted peace, untouched by the turbulence of existence. Its wings, both magnificent and incomplete, seem like a pulse of pure energy, an ephemeral soul caught mid-ascent. The composition exists in a delicate tension between absolute vulnerability and timelessness, where liquid matter becomes both genesis and dissolution.

Jaroslav, a master of liquid photography, transforms fleeting movement into a powerful symbol of transcendence. The use of milk—both a nurturing and universal substance—deepens the spiritual dimension of the piece, questioning both origin and destiny. Echoes of Eternity surpasses mere aesthetic beauty, offering instead a meditation on the soul, the cycle of life, and the ephemeral nature of existence.

Fallen Angels

Fallen Angels

Few photographic series capture both profound suffering and artistic transcendence as powerfully as Fallen Angels by Jaroslav Wieczorkiewicz. Blending fine art, mythology, and high-speed photography, this evocative work explores grief, trauma, and resilience through a unique visual language.

Inspired by personal loss—his mother’s cancer, his father’s depression, and a miscarriage within a year—Fallen Angels is a cathartic expression, externalizing sorrow while inviting viewers to confront their own experiences. Wieczorkiewicz sculpts suffering into form, using his signature technique of photographing splashes of milk and paint in motion. These fluid, ephemeral wings symbolize the fragile balance between celestial grace and human fragility.

Technically ambitious, the series combines high-speed photography with advanced digital compositing, layering hundreds of images into each composition. Beyond its striking aesthetic, Fallen Angels is a meditation on resilience, portraying figures caught between flight and descent, seeking light amid darkness.

Acclaimed for its originality, the series cements Wieczorkiewicz’s status as a pioneer in liquid photography, transforming the ephemeral into the eternal.
