In 2001, Gérard Rancinan created a series of photographs featuring American artist Paul McCarthy, known for his provocative performances. These works, part of the “Artists” series, capture McCarthy during the installation of his retrospective exhibition at the New Museum in New York on February 11, 2001. Rancinan uses these portraits to explore McCarthy’s complex personality and his subversive approach to contemporary art. These photographs were exhibited and sold during the “L’Art pour Tous” sale by Gérard Rancinan, accompanied by certificates of authenticity.
