Music Spirit
“What music appeals to within us is difficult to know; what is certain is that it touches an area so deep that even madness itself cannot penetrate.”
Emile Cioran – Romanian Philosopher and Writer (1911-1995)
The "Music Spirit" collection was born from Justine Darmon's admiration for the musicians' generous gift: those unique moments when joy and intense emotions transcend time.
On stage, every musician fully dedicates themselves, creating sounds that deeply resonate within each of us, carrying the audience on an intimate and introspective journey. Through her art photography, she captures this journey, revealing the uniqueness and richness of each artist, as well as their evocative power: the intense desire to live, surpass oneself, move forward, and share.
Focusing on Jazz and World Music, Justine Darmon's images celebrate the diversity, cultural mixing, and openness to the world that are dear to her. This artistic series enhances the raw, almost primal energy and emotional intensity arising from the musical interactions between artists, offering viewers a sublime projection of her personal emotions.
Justine Darmon
Justine Darmon, an art photographer born in Paris in 1973, discovered early on the captivating world of film photography. After a detour through a career in Human Resources, she passionately returned to photography in 2015. Her art photographs, available as limited edition fine art prints, explore a dreamlike universe inspired by universal symbolism and collective memory. Influenced by fairy tales, Renaissance paintings, and humanist photographers, Justine Darmon subtly plays with shadows, lights, and textures to capture raw emotions. Her artworks invite viewers to immerse themselves in a world where imagination unveils the deep complexities of the human soul.
