A renowned photographer, considered one of the best French portrait artists of his generation, Arnaud Baumann has established himself as an artist throughout his 45-year career.

Born in 1953, he began his professional career working alongside photographer Xavier Lambours, capturing exceptional behind-the-scenes moments at Hara Kiri magazine and Charlie Hebdo, immortalized in the famous book “Dans le ventre de Hara Kiri” published by Editions La Martinière. His versatility led him to collaborate regularly with publications such as Libération, Le Nouvel Observateur, Télérama, VSD, Paris Match and Géo, as well as internationally via the Sipa agency. However, it was in the art of portraiture that Baumann fully revealed his artistic talent.

The exhibition ★ ICONIC PORTRAITS ★ offers an exclusive look at his work, highlighting iconic moments captured with a personal, searching artistic touch. His portraits of French celebrities Coluche, Les Nuls and Serge Gainsbourg, as well as global figures such as Sean Connery, Johnny Depp and Dustin Hoffman, reveal the depth and sensitivity that characterize his distinctive style.

Each portrait in this exceptional collection testifies to Arnaud Baumann’s ability to capture the very essence of celebrities. In his portraits, he transcends the mere status of image to become a captivating plunge into the history of an era. A poignant testimony to an exceptional career.

The exhibition will feature a selection of over 80 photographs, mostly from the ★ ICONIC PORTRAITS ★ collection, but also from other series such as “Eau Secours“, “Carnet d’adresses” and “Instantanés“.
